Any Blue Mountaineers out there? I sometimes think Im the only adult geek around,
I would dearly love to get an Amateur Robotics club going here, I envisage comps such like Seattle Robotics or DPORG get up to. Anyone else interested in this kind of thing?

unfortunately I don't we have anyone else from the Blue Mountains here. (Any of the Sydney-siders out west in Sydney?).
I agree, it would be so good to have actual competitions. One day...........

Out west? Sydney is lots of "out west". I'm in Blacktown, which is miles from the CBD, and we're still only halfway to the mountains!... But I gotta say that for Sydney there seems to be very few people interested in robotics. I wonder why that is? Maybe they don't know of this site... Anywhose, the idea of a club is a good one. Email me. But I'll be gone over xmas and new year, back on the 16th Jan. Merry christmas and all that. I emailed Santa to put a humanoid robot under the tree, but I'll probably get underpants. Just found this website and joined.
I have 25 years programming, but a few months back I decided to learn some electronics and mtalworking and have a go at robotics as a hobby.
I have been amazed that there seem to be so few hobby robotics hobbyists in Aus ! especially given that every university and lots of schools seem to be into it now.
I am in Chatswood (Sydney north shore), and have also been wondering if there would be enough interest to start a club here. I guess in the mean-time this website and forum is a good place to meet.
