Hi all, Finally I found a group with similar interests, can’t believe that there are no formal groups outside of uni’s, or am I looking in the wrong places? I am a software developer; based in Sydney; by day, and build robots out for world domination by night… unfortunately that last bit is not true… yet. I am currently working on a 4wd autonomous bot for the RoboGames, Magellan event. I was aiming for the 2008 event but work and some personal commitments prevented that; things are on track for 2009. A quick overview of Renoster Lynxmotion A4WD1 chassis 4 Lynxmotion GHM-15 Spur Gear Head with quadrature encoders 4 HB25 motor controllers Custom ATMega32 based controller 4 custom I2C based quadrature decoder boards 5 SRF02 ultrasonic sensors Via Artigo And all the other little odds and sods that go with it, gps, web cam, LCD, servo controller etc. It still has a long way to go, mostly software. I am looking for people interested in helping or building their own, I need ideas, help, crit etc. I will share my source, and designs, I have a few spare bare PCB’s for the custom components. If you are interested let me know. Adi

Hi Adi I live in Sydney. This sounds like a great project and I'd be happy to join in. My hotmail email should be under one of the icons to the left but if not, then you can also email me at: robotics at mysoul dot com dot au (I have spelled out my email because I don't want spambots to see it.) Unfortunately this forum is nearly dead and some of us are now at Aus Robotics: www.ausrobotics.com/drupal/You are most welcome to join. And please, send me an email! Regards Rod

Hi Botman,
I remember ausrobotics, but other than the main blog, its forums seem quieter (deader) than these, but I have joined there as well.
Email is on it's way...
Adi

Hi Adi and Rod, Yes looks a bit dead here. Another site for robotics is www.the-crawler.comIt's designed for robotic builders, but the main theme at the moment is The new Pixar film Wall-e. But your welcome to post any project there. about 1000 members at the moment. And we have some of the solidworks educational group there too. Anyway worth a look. Cheers The other Rod
