I found "Microsoft Robotics Studio" last night (http://msdn.microsoft.com/robotics/), and that "Microsoft showed working Microsoft Robotics Studio demos from fischertechnik, LEGO Group, MobileRobots Inc., Parallax Inc. and Phidgets Inc."
I have had a look through the website, and downloaded the program but not tried it yet. Last time I installed .Net it broke my web development environment, so I'm reluctant to rush in again.
I wonder how long it will be suitable for hobbyists. Obviously they see the biggest initial market being LEGO and the like; but being Microsoft, I expect that version 3 (which traditionally delivers on their version 1 marketing hype) will be targetted to Universities and commercial developers, and hence overkill for hobbyists.
So, what do you guys make of it ? Will it be useful, or irrelevant ?
